Black Woman Have Heard it All

I woke up this morning to a post on twitter about a Study that says Black women are "physically less attractive". I started to just dismiss it as pure sciolism & denseness, but then it made me think, why do black women get so much grief? If it's not a study on how less attractive they are, it's on how they are less likely to get married, or how their attitudes are unbecoming. I sat back and had to think. Let's see...

Is it their big lips or big butts that are unattractive? Well, Americans have spent over $13 billion on plastic surgery, which includes collagen injections to get those "Unattractive" full lips and butt injections to get those awful & huge, "soul-food" fed bottoms.

Is it their complexion? Is being dark (for a woman, because according to the study, being dark for men did not take away from their attractiveness) really that unappealing? Then how do you explain the $11.2 billion spent annually at tanning salons. Oh, I get it, Orange is more attractive.

Black woman are accustomed to this axiomatic degradation. Being a "strong" black woman may get you the highest of praise of your son crying in tears and giving a speech of preeminent gratitude for all you have done, as he accepts his MVP award, in the manner of Derrick Rose & his mom, but that strength doesn't equate to physical attractiveness. I can't deny the study. It was done & it's what some people really feel. Did a study really need to be done to show that? Isn't it what society has been telling us for years?

I will end w/ this, Charles Darwin said it best, "It is not the most intelligent, nor strongest of species that survives, but the one most adaptable to change". I can't name a more adaptable species than the BLACK WOMAN. No matter the encumbrance, circumstance, impediment, obstacle or situation, you can put the house on it that the BLACK WOMAN will still be standing. No other race of people has been told how ugly, undeserving, repugnant & reprehensible they are as much as black women. Yet in still, they succeed and in my eyes, which are the only ones I can comment on, THEY PERSONIFY BEAUTY!!! I applaud, love & ultimately respect MY BEAUTIFUL BLACK WOMEN! And I didn't need a study to come to that culmination.

  1. Absolutely Black Woman! Black Women are strong and ATTRACTIVE---that study is whack! The questions is where are the Black Men? The dominoes fall from there! Great piece!!!
